NFL Odds – Jets & Eagles Try to Score on Thursday

The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles did not look good on offense last week and it may not be any prettier on Thursday vs. the NFL odds. Neither team’s first string is expected to play long so this could be a low scoring game and the NFL betting odds total is low.

NFL odds in the final week of the preseason are difficult to predict since it is a matchup of backups for both teams.  Neither team did much last week on offense but it is unlikely the head coaches will risk their first team starters for more than a series or two on Thursday night.

Jets Offense has been Bad – The Jets may be one of the Super Bowl favorites at Sbg global but in the preseason they have shown no real indications that they are a Super Bowl team, especially on offense.  Quarterback Mark Sanchez has looked more like a rookie than a second year quarterback and overall, the Jets are not moving the ball.  Last week they fumbled it four times and lost three of them.  Sanchez also threw an interception in the loss to Washington.  New York had eight drives last week that went for five plays or less.  That is cause for serious concern heading into the regular season.

Eagles Offense is Not Much Better – The Eagles first string offense was not very good last week either and they really have to pick things up because they will have to score points in their season opener if they expect to keep up with the high-powered offense of the Green Bay Packers.  The Eagles didn’t look very good last week as quarterback Kevin Kolb did nothing.  The Eagles are very concerned about their offensive line.  Center Jamaal Jackson has a bad knee, Stacy Andrews is inconsistent and Jason Peters is one of the most overpaid offensive linemen in the league.

The Under Looks Tempting:  The total on this game is low but both teams have solid defenses even with the backups.  Neither team has really shown much on offense.  With the starters getting limited time that probably won’t change on Thursday night.  Under the total in NFL betting odds could be the way to go in this one.
