NFL Betting St. Louis Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

September 12th, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

NFL betting on Thursday is likely to see a couple of backup quarterbacks get the spotlight as the Cincinnati Bengals host the St. Louis Rams. Both team’s starting quarterbacks are nursing injuries and may not play in this football betting matchup.

NFL betting tells us that Carson Palmer has a sprained ankle and could be held out of this game. If it was a regular season football betting game he probably would play but in this preseason game he may not. On the other side the Rams will be without starting quarterback Marc Bulger. That means this NFL betting matchup will see Kyle Boller going for the Rams against J.T. O’Sullivan for the Bengals. Cincinnati had to sign a kicker this week as well as Shayne Graham is dealing with a groin injury. He hopes to be ready for the regular season football betting opener. “I’m not worried about it. I know I’ll come back strong. It will give me time to rehab it,” said Graham, “I would say (that I’ll kick in the opener), but I’ll just take it a day at a time.”

NFL betting in the preseason is usually somewhat predictable in the third game since starters get a lot of time but this game is different. With Bulger out and Palmer not likely to play in this football betting matchup, it becomes a choice between Boller and O’Sullivan. So far in the NFL betting preseason O’Sullivan has played pretty well for the Bengals. Boller has looked about like he normally does for the Rams and that is not good news for those backing the Rams in NFL betting.

NFL betting information tells us that the backups that should get time in the second half are Brock Berlin for the Rams and Jordan Palmer for the Bengals. Neither of these two inspires any NFL betting confidence.

The home team could be the choice in this NFL betting matchup simply because they look to be the better team with the better quarterbacks. If the Rams had Bulger healthy perhaps they would be worth a look but without him they are probably likely to struggle in this NFL betting game.

The Rams and Bengals could also play a low scoring NFL betting game on Thursday with the starting quarterbacks out so that could also be something to look for in this matchup.
