NFL Betting – Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints

NFL betting on the Oakland Raiders has oftentimes been unpredictable and that is definitely the case in NFL Week 6 odds as they travel to New Orleans to face the Saints. Many football betting gamblers will be backing the Saints in this game but the Raiders could be worth a look in NFL betting, coming off a bye and with a new head coach.

NFL betting odds have the Saints as solid home favorites against the Raiders but New Orleans has not done very well in that role in recent seasons. The Saints have been horrible laying points at home in terms of the NFL pointspread recently. They are just above 30% laying points at home in NFL betting since 2005.

The Raiders and Saints don’t play that often although they have faced each other twice this decade according to NFL betting stats. The last time they played was in 2004 in Oakland and the Saints were 31-26 winners according to NFL betting stats. They also played in 2000 at New Orleans and the Raiders won 31-22 according to NFL numbers. Overall, the teams have met seven times and the Saints are 4-3 straight up and 5-2 against the football betting pointspread. The two game this decade both went over the NFL betting total.

The Raiders have been horrible in almost all NFL pointspread roles recently. On the road though as an NFL underdog they are almost .500 and that is about the only positive for the Raiders. Taking the Raiders in football betting is always risky, especially with Al Davis as the owner. New head coach Tom Cable has no real clue what to do so it is all a matter of whether or not the Raiders get enough defensive stops to stay in this game. The Saints will score with Drew Brees, Reggie Bush and a powerful offense, so the Raiders will need some big plays from JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden if they are to stay in the game and under the football betting number.
