NFL Betting – Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars

NFL betting on Sunday includes an inter conference matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams are fighting to stay in the playoff picture although the chances for the Vikings look a lot better than the chances of the Jaguars.  Gamblers making football bets  may have a tough time choosing a side in this one on the NFL odds Week 12 board.

NFL has the matchup of the running of Adrian Peterson against the Jaguars defense. That might not be good news for gamblers making football bets on Jacksonville as the Jaguars rank in the bottom half of the NFL in rushing yards allowed.   The Jacksonville defense this season has been much weaker than in previous years and Minnesota should be able to move the ball.  On the other side of the ball the Jacksonville offense has not been very effective this season, ranking in the bottom half of the league according to NFL stats.  Gamblers making football bets will notice that the strength of Jacksonville is running the ball but that plays right into the strength of the Minnesota defense.  The key in this NFL  matchup is how well Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard throws the ball.

Jacksonville and Minnesota have not played very many times in NFL history.  They have met just three times with Minnesota winning and covering the NFL number twice.  The last time they played was at Minnesota in 2004 and the Vikings won 24-16 according to NFL stats.  Jacksonville won 33-3 at Minnesota in 2001 according to NFL results.  The only previous meeting at Jacksonville was in 1998 and the Vikings put up 50 points on the Jaguars in a 50-10 win according to NFL numbers.

Two of the three all-time meetings between the two teams went under the NFL number.  That could be the case again this season even though the total in NFL odds Week 12 numbers is fairly low.
