Cowboys December Struggles Continue NFL Betting Lines

NFL betting lines had the Dallas Cowboys losing yet another game in December last week as they were defeated by the New York Giants. The Cowboys played well at times but still came up with another loss in December against the football odds. NFL betting lines have the Cowboys facing a tough remaining schedule so they could continue to struggle in December. They face the red-hot San Diego Chargers this week in NFL betting lines and they still have games remaining against divisional rivals Philadelphia and Washington in addition to unbeaten New Orleans. The Cowboys have lost five of their last six NFL betting lines games played in December under head coach Wade Phillips. Owner Jerry Jones is trying to stay positive though about the December failures. “I don’t look at this in any way as an indictment of this team relative to some kind of December trend,” Jones said. “I don’t even look at that.”

While Jones may not look at it, the facts remain that Dallas has not had a winning December in football odds since 1996. NFL betting lines also indicate that as the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game. “It’s going to put that much more on us to play better and win some games,” Jones said. “This has nothing to do with trends, habits, as far as I’m concerned.”

Dallas lost against the Giants in NFL betting lines even though quarterback Tony Romo, wide receivers Miles Austin and Roy Williams and tight end Jason Witten had huge games. Witten had a career-best 14 catches for 156 yards in the NFL betting lines loss. Romo threw for a career-high 392 yards and three touchdowns as NFL betting lines indicate while Williams caught two touchdowns as football odds stats how. Austin had 10 catches for over 100 yards and a TD in the NFL betting lines loss. None of it mattered though as the Cowboys lost to the Giants in NFL betting lines. Tony Romo is now 5-9 in December games in his career. “We’ve got to challenge ourselves and find a way to play,” Witten said. “We have to get back to it and forget all this December stuff. I’m not trying to avoid it or say it’s not true. We’ve got to put it away. You let another one slip and you’re really in trouble.”

Dallas is a three-point favorite this week in football odds as they host the San Diego Chargers. Even though the Cowboys are tied for the lead in the NFC East, the game is almost a must-win considering how much Dallas has struggled versus the NFL betting lines in December.
