2007 Oakland Raiders and football betting
2007 Outlook
Key Signings: QB Josh McCown, RB Dominic Rhodes, WR Mike Williams
Key Losses: HC Art Shell; WR Randy Moss
Key Players: QB JaMarcus Russell, LB Kirk Morrison
2007 football betting Preview: The big news for the Raiders was their first pick in the 2007 football betting NFL Draft, Quarterback JaMarcus Russell out of LSU. It is expected that Russell will begin changing the Raiders from bottom feeders into playoff contenders for this upcoming NFL betting season.
The Raiders hired Lane Kiffin, USC’s offensive coordinator as their head coach. His first hire was former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Greg Knapp. The Raiders also signed Super Bowl winning running back Dominic Rhodes from the Colts and brought in Justin Griffith from Atlanta as the blocking back for this upcoming football betting season.
The Oakland Raiders 2007 NFL football betting schedule is manageable since the Raiders get some games against the NFC and AFC South and both of those divisions are weaker than others. They do have to play the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts and Super Bowl runner-up Chicago Bears but there are some winnable games on the schedule and Oakland should improve during the 2007 football betting season.

Offense: The Raiders offense was horrible in the 2006 football betting season and should be much improved this season 2007 NFL betting season. This 2007 football betting season, the team signed Cooper Carlisle from the Broncos to try and help the offensive line and protect rookie quarterback JaMarcus Russell. Josh McCown will probably begin the year under center, but it won’t be long before Russell has the job. Wide receiver Randy Moss 0was traded which is good news since he was a disruptive influence. The Raiders picked up unhappy Mike Williams from Detroit and perhaps he can team with whiner Jerry Porter to give the Raiders a receiving threat. Running back LaMont Jordan should also have a good 2007 football betting season.
Defense: The bright spot on the Raiders team in the 2006 football betting season was their defense. The Raiders have a lot of young talent lead by Kirk Morrison who was the teams leading tackler. Michael Huff and Stuart Schweigert lead the secondary.
Outlook: Quarterback JaMarcus Russell will eventually have the starting job in the 2007 football betting season and how well the Raiders do in the future is up to him. Russell will benefit from an improved team overall and a head coach that actually understands the offensive side of the ball. The Raiders also stole former Louisville running back Michael Bush in the later rounds of the NFL draft and he may be an impact player in the future in the future 2007 football betting season.
