Kansas City Chiefs 2006 Review

2007 Football Betting Season Preview: First round 2007 NFL betting season Draft pick Dwayne Bowe will be expected to improve the receiving corps immediately. Larry Johnson will again get the ball nearly every down and the Chiefs will try and win close games similar to what they did in 2006 football betting season.

The overall team looks weaker for football betting odds though, and matching the 9-7 record and making the playoffs does not look likely. The Chiefs football betting fans could suffer on special teams in 2007. They traded away long-time kick returner Dante Hall and also traded kicker Lawrence Tynes to the New York Giants.

The Chiefs 2007 football betting schedule will have games against NFC North and AFC South opponents in addition to their 6 AFC West divisional games. The Kansas City Chiefs do get opponents from the weaker NFC North and AFC South but they have to play Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis in a rematch of last year’s playoffs in addition to Super Bowl runner-up Chicago. If the Chiefs are still alive for the playoffs, the last three weeks of the regular football betting season has them facing Tennessee, Detroit and the New York Jets. Here is a look at the 2007 NFL betting schedule for the Kansas City Chiefs football betting fans.

Offense: Quarterback Damon Huard is the probable starter since it is expected that Trent Green will be traded before the football betting season begins. Tight end Tony Gonzalez is the pass catching threat at tight end and can take the pressure off All-Pro running back Larry Johnson. Johnson set an NFL record for carries in a football betting season with 416. The offensive line will not be as good this year for football betting with the losses of All-Pro tackle Willie Roaf, and guard Will Shields. Johnson may find the holes smaller in 2007 football betting season.

Defense: The Chiefs defense was much better for football betting in 2006. Defensive ends Tamba Hali and Jared Allen led the way. Allen will miss the first 4 games of 2007 NFL betting season due to suspension. Linebacker Derrick Johnson is the star of the defense and should have an All-Pro season for football betting. The Kansas City Chiefs picked up free agents Napoleon Harris and Donnie Edwards in the off-season. The secondary is led by Ty Law and Patrick Surtain. NFL betting experts think safeties Jarad Page and Bernard Pollard are solid.

Forecast: The question for the Chiefs is whether or not Huard is the quarterback of the future. If not, then expect Brodie Croyle to be under center very quickly. The Chiefs made the playoffs in 2006 mainly due to luck. That luck may run out for players and football betting fans in 2007.
