This number might seem low to you in college football betting but the Cowboys lost a lot of starters from last season while Washington State should be improved.
NCAA betting lines list Oklahoma State as a 15-point favorite in this game that will be televised on the FSN network. Washington State has been simply horrible the last two seasons under head coach Paul Wulff. They were 1-11 last season and simply non-competitive in most games. The offense for Washington State last year was sickening. The Cougars are going to be better this season with Jeff Tuel at quarterback. If he gets protection there is some real hope that the Cougars will score some points during the 2010 season.
WSU’s Defense Can’t be any Worse: The Cougars allowed 38 points per game last season. Let me repeat that amazing stat again. They allowed 38 points per game last season. Opponents put up 512 yards of total offense per game against them. Those numbers are simply incomprehensible. The Cougars are going to be better simply because they are healthy. They will still give up points but it won’t be almost 40 per game.
Pass Happy Cowboys: The Cowboys are going to throw the ball a lot this season. They have a new coordinator in Dana Holgorsen and he is going to throw the ball a lot. His offense led the nation in scoring and in total yardage last year at Houston. The Cowboys will be counting on Brandon Weeden to replace Zac Robinson at quarterback. Oklahoma State has a great running back in Kendall Hunter and he is going to get the ball a lot on handoffs and on short passes out of the backfield. The Cowboys should be fun to watch on offense.
High Scoring Game: The Cougars are going to be better on offense this season and Oklahoma State’s defense is young. Washington State should be good for a few TDs in this game and the Cowboys should score at least four or five. Over the total seems like a good way to go at the Sbg global sportsbook.
