Big East College Football Betting

College football betting on the Big East is interesting but not always profitable. The Big East could be one of the most overrated conferences in the country. College football wagering online gamblers definitely have to be careful when betting the Big East.

College football wagering was really not very good on the Big East in 2008.  Only one team finished the season with a winning record against the college football wagering online odds. Rutgers was 7-4-1 against the college football wagering  pointspread at the sports book.  They were the only team in the entire conference to finish the regular season with a winning record against the college football betting online number.  Cincinnati went 11-3 straight up but they were 6-7 against the college football wagering odds.  Pittsburgh and West Virginia were 9-4 straight up but a bust against the college football betting number.  Connecticut and South Florida also finished with winning records straight up but neither team had a winning record against the college football wagering pointspread.

What this tells you is that taking the Big East when they play out of conference is a huge risk in college football betting.  The conference is very overrated in college football wagering .  When you think of teams that belong in the BCS you don’t think of Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, West Virginia or Rutgers.  And when you think of the worst team in college football wagering  the Syracuse Orange have to be right at the top of the list.  This football team has been a mess for years and they have done little to change that impression in recent seasons in online betting.

The Big East has a place in the BCS and gets an automatic bowl bid, but in reality the conference should not.  The conference really is not that much better than the Mountain West and their recent performances are proving that fact.  College football betting on the Big East has to be done with a little bit of caution.  Taking any of the eight teams in the conference is a risk in college football betting online because the conference is simply not as good as the other power conferences like the Big 12, SEC, Big 10 and ACC.

As you look at Big East college football betting this season remember to really focus on your handicapping and don’t automatically give the teams a lot of respect just because the conference gets an automatic BCS bid.
