The experts think this game will be anything but exciting, with neither team hosting a star QB and neither having great offenses. However, when it comes to defensive football, both of these teams have excellent defensive rosters, and that will produce an interesting outcome as if it were chess match this Saturday.

For the fans of the 7-5 Penn State Nittany Lions had as struggling season and with 3 consecutive losses to Northwestern, Michigan and Michigan State and this loss with the Spartans was a bit embarrassing as the final score was 55-16 in the season’s final game.

But the Penn State offense still has struggled and not able to protect their QB C. Hackenberg, and this season has improved to just 5 interceptions, but was only able to complete some 52 percent of his passing attempts. They still have an excellent RB in S. Barkley who in 10 games this season he gained more than 1,000 yards rushing with 7 touchdowns and could change the final score of this game that is expected to be a struggle defensively for the 2 teams.

Yes their defense of the Lions has been their strength and in this game they should be able to keep up with the Bulldogs, a team that just might have an offense that struggles more than that of the Lions. The Penn State team averaged allowing their opponents to score some 22 points a game this season.

If you’re a fan of the 9-3 Georgia Bulldogs your team struggled through the season as their star RB N. Chubb was lost to a knee injury playing the Alabama Crimson Tide. They did come back and win their last 3 games of the season, but still lost their Head Coach M. Richt.

In their ultimate 7 games they managed to score more than 30 points only once, as their back-up RB S. Michel in the last 4 games had 130 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns in 3 of those 4 games. Thus, it is expected that the Bulldogs will struggle attempting to score against a Penn State defense that has been very strong this season.

The Bulldog defense also came to the rescue especially for the month of November when they held their opponents to scoring just 10 points in each of those games. That defense is ranked 11th in the FBS and will likely be the best defense in this game.

The online wagering prediction for this Taxslayer Bowl game is that the Penn State Nittany Lions find enough offensive to keep up with the Georgia Bulldogs but the Lions defense struggles late and the Bulldogs win this Bowl game.
