Who is dancing in Ohio for March Madness?

NCAA Basketball and the Annual Tournament,  most know as March Madness, is just around the corner as March 2014 comes forward.  The Tournament also known as the Dance, and now the fanatic College Hoop fans are asking who’s going to the Dance.  In this review, we will primarily focus on teams from the State of OHIO, USA who may be dancing!

At present its the #7 ranked Cincinnati Bearcats and with a 15 win streak is certainly going to be at the dance! A week ago,  it was not a certainty, but the Ohio State Buckeyes will be back again this year for the dance.  Also, there are other Ohio teams that could make it to the dance, and that number could bring the possibility of the State of Ohio placing some five teams in the tournament.  But that still remains to be seen based on the remaining schedule before tournament time, which is less than 30 days away.  That means these teams still have a lot of proving to finish before the dance starts.

The first of those teams mentioned apart from OSU and Cincinnati is Xavier, who has a 46 RPI rating with a tough schedule,  and currently has faced a three game losing streak. Presently,  their two big losses were to Seton Hall and Southern Cal.   Now Xavier must improve their resume by winning their next games with Creighton and Villanova.

Another of the Ohio teams mentioned above is Dayton with an RPI of 61, and they had national attention at the Maui Invitational beating Gonzaga and California.  With Dayton’s present record in the Atlantic 10 they will need big wins over UMass, at Saint Louis and vs. Richmond.

In the latest RPI ratings the Bearcats of Cincinnati are at No.14 with Ohio State at No. 17 and Toledo of the MAC is No. 29.  The MAC Conference has not had two bids to the dance since back in 1999. But this season with Toledo off to a hot start, that could change.  However, Toledo needs to continue its winning path and get the MAC auto bid.  They have the team strength and RPI rating that will be in their favor.  Wins in upcoming games with Ohio, Akron and Cleveland State would certainly strengthen their position.

The season ending MAC tournament that includes several Ohio teams and Michigan teams,  appears to be more competitive and more important in relation to the tournament that it has been in recent seasons.   Akron, Buffalo and Ohio feel they can win the MAC automatic bid. But Kent State, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan have teams that can compete,  and upset any of the teams in the MAC tournament.  Others to watch in that tournament are Cleveland State, Wisconsin GB and Wright State.

Thus, it may still be a bit early to know whom will be going to the big dance, but be assured those fans that Bet on College, especially to Bet on NCAA BB for March Madness will be watching for upcoming odds at the Offshore sportsbook of their choosing.
