2007-2008 Northeastern Huskies College Basketball Odds

College basketball odds on Northeastern came down a little bit late last season as the Huskies won six of their final eight games. Experts that look at basketball odds see that the Huskies finished 5th in the Colonial Athletic Conference a year ago.  Many college basketball odds experts were surprised by the success of Northeastern last season and could be surprised again in 2007-2008.

College basketball odds experts see that head coach Bill Coen returns for his second season. Most basketball odds experts believe that sophomore guard Matt Janning, who earned CAA Rookie of the Year and Freshman All-
America honors will lead the way.  College basketball odds experts know that Janning averaged 11.6 ppg and 4.5 rpg.  Experts that bet college basketball odds see that Northeastern also welcomes back a pair of talented
6-8 forwards in sophomore Manny Adako (5.3 ppg /4.0 rpg) and junior Eugene Spates, who scored 7.7 points per game.  Basketball odds experts see that senior post player Mark Washington is also back.  College basketball odds experts know that the challenge of replacing three senior starters won’t be easy but the addition of 6-foot-8 junior forward Chris Alvarez, a transfer from Dayton and 6-foot-9 sophomore center Nkem Ojougboh, a transfer from UT-San Antonio should help.

Northeastern faces a difficult early season schedule according to college basketball odds experts.  They have to play Illinois, Maryland, Syracuse, Connecticut and Boston College. Most college basketball odds experts believe that Northeastern will rely heavily upon Washington and Janning.  The interesting player according to college basketball odds experts is Nkem Ojougboh.  He transferred from Texas-San Antonio where he averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds a game two years ago. The Huskies will need some players to step up and support Janning and Washington.  Perhaps one of the two new transfers can make an impact this season versus the college basketball odds.

Northeastern surprised quite a few college basketball odds experts last season.  Head coach Coen did a great job and nearly won coach of the year honors as basketball odds experts remember.  It will be another interesting job for Coen this season but at least he has Janning to rely upon and he should be enough to keep Northeastern in the hunt versus college basketball odds this season.
