No. 1 Kentucky beats Texas 72-64 in SEC game

This past Tuesday, the 3rd of March, with the NCAA Basketball Men’s season winding down we saw the No.1 Kentucky undefeated at 30-0 this 2014-15 season and 1st in the SEC Conference at 17-0, playing their next to last regular season game against the Georgia Bulldogs 19-10 and 6th in the SEC at 10-7, who were also playing their next to last season regular game. This game was played at the Stegeman Coliseum in Atlanta, Georgia and the tip off was at 8 PM ET and had ESPN coverage.

The scoring in the game, especially in the first half made it look as though the Bulldogs or Georgia just might upset the No. 1 Wildcats of Kentucky as the 1st half of the game ended with the score tied No.1 UK 32 and UGA 32. In the second half Kentucky turned up it scoring power and outscored the Bulldogs of Georgia by 8 points at 40-32 thus the No. Kentucky won 72 Bulldogs of Georgia 64.

This season the Kentucky Wildcats are making or repeating history as they are only the 4th team in the history of the SEC that has won 30 consecutive games in a season. At the same time they became Division I’s 13th team who has won their first 30 games in a regular season. The Wildcat team also on its away/road games normally outscores their opposing teams by some 12.5 points each game, and that’s second best in the nation this 2014-15 seasons.

Kentucky came back strong in this game in the last 9 minutes of the 2nd half as the Wildcats had 25 points and the Bulldogs 8. On Field goals Kentucky were 8 of 13 while Georgia made 3 of 9 FG’s. For 3-pointers the Wildcats were made 1 or 2 and the Bulldogs made 0 of their 5 3-pointers. And finally on foul shots the Wildcats were 6 for 9 while the Bulldogs only made 2 of their 7 foul shots, thus the Wildcats excelled in the last minutes of the game.
