Kansas #1 in Preseason Poll College Basketball Betting

College basketball betting season will begin with the Kansas Jayhawks as the #1 team in the country. Kansas is ranked #1 in both the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 and in the AP Top 25.  There is no question that Kansas will get a lot of NCAA basketball betting attention to start the season.

College basketball betting has Kansas being followed in the Top five by Michigan State, Texas, North Carolina and Kentucky. “We will have a bull’s-eye on our back,” Kansas coach Bill Self said to ESPN, “It will make us tougher and harder and if it makes us tougher and harder throughout the season, we’ll be better in March.”

College basketball betting showed that last year’s runner-up Michigan State is second to start the season followed by Kansas and defending national champion North Carolina. Kentucky rounds out the top five for new head coach John Calipari. The Wildcats are one of the favorites this season to win the national title. College basketball betting has Villanova, Purdue, Duke, West Virginia and Butler rounding out the Top 10 in the ESPN/USA Today poll.

Kansas is a solid team in college basketball betting since they return virtually everyone including center Cole Aldrich and point guard Sherron Collins.  They also have a top recruit who is going to play right away and impact NCAA basketball betting in Xavier Henry.

College basketball betting has the second ten in the poll starting with Tennessee. They are followed by two Pac-10 teams in California and Washington as college basketball betting noted.  Connecticut is at #14 with Michigan rated #15.  Teams 16-20 in the poll begin with Oklahoma followed by two Big 10 college basketball betting teams, Ohio State and Minnesota. Mississippi State and Georgia Tech complete the Top 20 as college basketball betting indicated.  Teams 21-25 begin with Georgetown. They are followed by Dayton and Louisville. Clemson and Syracuse complete the preseason Top 25 as NCAA basketball betting indicated. College basketball betting had the AP poll very similar to the ESPN/USA Today poll except that Villanova was the 5th ranked team while North Carolina was #6.

College basketball betting is so heavily dominated by Kansas that they are getting most of the early season respect. In the AP poll they got 55 first place votes as NCAA basketball betting noted, with the next highest being Michigan State with just five first place votes.
