Big East Tournament 2010 March Madness Odds

March Madness odds on the Big East Tournament will have many of the top teams in the country matching up this week. It is a key tournament for many teams, especially Notre Dame and Connecticut who are trying to make the NCAA Tournament.  Most of the games will be televised so there should be a lot of exciting March Madness betting.

March Madness odds will have Syracuse as the likely winner of the tournament.  They are the top seed in the Big East Tournament and the bracket sets up well for them since Louisville and Pittsburgh are in the other half.  The top four seeds in the Big East tourney all get double byes so they don’t play until Thursday.  Those teams are Syracuse, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Villanova. The teams that get a single bye are Georgetown, Notre Dame, Louisville, and Marquette.

Notre Dame has a real chance to make the NCAA Tournament but they need to win on Wednesday when they face the winner of Seton Hall and Providence.  Connecticut also needs to win and they may need to make it all the way to the final to have a chance.

Georgetown and Villanova were thought of as top seeds in the NCAA Tournament just a few weeks ago and now both are fighting to stay in the mix for a #2 or #3 seed next week.  Neither team has played very well recently and really needs to get some confidence heading into the NCAA Tournament.

Tuesday’s first round action in the Big East Tournament has St. John’s playing Connecticut, Providence against Seton Hall, Rutgers facing Cincinnati and DePaul against South Florida.

There are games in the Big East Conference all week and many of them will be televised on ESPN.  Even the early round games should attract some attention in March Madness odds since teams like Connecticut and Seton Hall are capable of winning some games in this tournament.

The team to beat is Syracuse. The only problem with picking Syracuse to win this tournament is that they really don’t need it. Most people have them as a #1 seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament regardless of what they do in the Big East tourney.  The Orange are loaded though with Wes Johnson, Andy Rautins and a very tough defense so they are going to be tough to beat in March Madness betting.
