New York Knicks at Houston NBA Betting

NBA betting favors Houston on Saturday as they host the New York Knicks.

The Knicks are starting a three-game road trip on Saturday against the Rockets. It will be the first of two basketball betting meetings between the two teams this season.

NBA betting had the teams splitting the season series a year ago with each team winning at home.  New York is 1-5 at the Toyota Center, dropping four straight overall. Nate Robinson averaged 18 points and six rebounds and David Lee averaged 15.5 points and 12 rebounds in two NBA betting meetings with Houston last season. Tracy McGrady, who is not with the Rockets right now, scored 20 points in one meeting and Luis Scola had 17 points and 12.5 rebounds in the two NBA betting contests with the Knicks. This season the Rockets are being led by Aaron Brooks and Trevor Ariza.

Houston has won eight of the last ten against New York although they are just 5-5 against the NBA betting odds.  The Rockets have won four of the last five against New York at home but they are just 2-3 against the basketball betting odds.

New York is 8-8 against the NBA betting line on the road this season. They did win two of their last three though including a big NBA betting win in Atlanta. The Knicks are in the Top 10 in scoring as a team even though they don’t have a player who is averaging more than 19 points per game. The Knicks defense is not as bad as you might think, ranking 23rd in the league as NBA betting statistics show.

Houston has been excellent at home this season versus the NBA betting pointspread. The Rockets are 10-4 at home in NBA betting. The Rockets are hanging right in the Western Conference playoff picture.  Winning at home is a big reason why. The Rockets are just 15th in scoring and 17th in defense so they find ways to win in basketball betting.  Their leading scorer is Aaron Brooks and he is not even averaging 18 points per game.  The schedule in the next week or so is favorable to the Rockets in NBA betting. They host the Knicks in this game and then go to Charlotte for a brief one-game road trip before returning to host the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat in basketball betting.
