The Raptors might have some value though because they are going to be underdogs almost every night. Let’s look at whether or not Toronto is worth an NBA bet.
Odds to Win the NBA Title at Sbgglobal 200-1
The Raptors have no chance to be a title contender this season. They are 200-1 to win the title and it may as well be a million to one. Toronto was below .500 last seasons and that was when they had Bosh. They are not going to anywhere close to .500 this year.
Last Year’s Record 40-42 SU, 39-43 ATS
Toronto was a disappointment last season. They couldn’t even get to the .500 mark and they were also a losing team against the point spread.
Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Jose Calderon
Guard – DeMar DeRozan
Center – Andrea Bargnani
Forward – Linas Kleiza
Forward – Amir Johnson
When you look at the starting lineup for the Raptors you simply have to shake your head. Who is going to score other than Bargnani? The team added Ed Davis and Leandro Barbosa but they are not premier scorers. The Toronto management team is saying that the team can be more balanced with a lot of players chipping in to get 12-15 points per night. What that really means is that they have no superstar to rely upon to get points. The Raptors will rely upon Bargnani to get points but the problem for Toronto is they don’t have many other scoring options. Another problem is their defense. Bargnani is not a good defensive player and he is not the only one. None of the Toronto players are really that great on the defensive end and that is a major problem, especially when you are not an offensive juggernaut. It is going to be a long year in Toronto. The team simply does not have the talent to be competitive on a nightly basis. They will steal a few games here and there but risking money on Toronto in NBA wagering online action looks to be a bad bet in 2010-2011.
