The Lakers have won six of the last ten against Houston but they are just 5-5 against the spread. The teams have met three times this season and the Lakers have won two of the three straight up but they are just 1-2 against the spread. The Lakers won 103-102 at Houston and 88-79 in Los Angeles. The Rockets victory came at Los Angeles back in November by a score of 101-91. Houston is not the same team they were back then. The Lakers and Rockets have split their last four meetings in Houston. Six of the last seven games in this series have gone under the total.
The Lakers are in the top ten on offense and on defense which is why they are a threat to win every game. The Lakers are hurting somewhat though since Andrew Bynum is out of the lineup again. Los Angeles is still capable of winning and covering without Bynum though. Kobe Bryant leads the team in scoring and the Lakers have other players who can score like Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol.
The Rockets have gotten good play out of Kevin Martin recently but how well he works with Aaron Brooks is still in question. Houston still has Trevor Ariza and he can sometimes impact a game as well and he always wants to play well against his former team. The Rockets are really looking to next year though when Yao Ming returns. The last few games of this season are really just in preparation for next year.
