The Warriors are playing the 6th game of a very long 7-game homestand. They have not had much success against Denver though, winning just 3 of the last 10 games but at least they are 5-5 against the NBA betting odds.
Basketball betting has the Nuggets playing well of late, winning five of their last six. They outscored Utah on Sunday in their last game, winning 119-112. Speaking of scoring, this series between Denver and Golden State has seen a lot of it lately. In fact, the teams have combined for at least 242 points in each of the last three meetings. Earlier this month the Nuggets won 123-122 at home while last month Denver won 135-107. The teams met once at Golden State a year ago and the Warriors won 111-101. The teams have split the last four meetings at Golden State both straight up and against the NBA betting odds.
Denver has been better in basketball betting at home than on the road. The Nuggets are just 7-11-1 against the NBA betting odds on the road this season. Denver has the 2nd ranked offense in the league led by Carmelo Anthony who is averaging 30 points per game. Denver also has other players who can provide scoring including Chauncey Billups. A defense that is 21st in the league is somewhat of a problem though, especially on the road. It is definitely surprising with those numbers that 12 of their 19 road games have actually gone under in NBA betting.
Golden State is not a very good team but at home they are above .500 vs. the basketball betting odds. The Warriors are all about offense this season. Basketball betting statistics have them at 3rd in the league in points scored and last in terms of points allowed. Golden State can make that combination work at home in basketball betting but it is not as effective on the road. Monta Ellis is having a good year, averaging over 26 points per game but far too often he doesn’t get enough help. The Warriors also have a number of injuries that have hurt their cause. Golden State can be competitive though in basketball betting. It is just a matter of knowing when they come to play.
