Dallas Mavericks at Toronto Basketball Betting

January 5th, 2024 Live NBA Betting Lines

Basketball betting has seen Dallas win nine of the last ten against Toronto so the Mavericks could be a popular choice on Sunday at Toronto. Even though Dallas has won nine of ten in the series they are just 5-5 against the NBA betting odds in those games.

Basketball betting had these two teams meeting back in November in Dallas and the Mavericks routed the Raptors by a score of 129-101.  This is the first game of a five-game road trip for Dallas.  The Mavericks have won three of the last four at Toronto but they are just 1-3 against the NBA betting odds.

If you want to take Dallas in basketball betting the time to do it is when they are on the road. The Mavericks are a far better team in basketball betting on the road than at home. It is somewhat unusual to see a team do well on the road and struggle at home but that is the case with Dallas. They are terrible at home versus the basketball betting odds but on the road they are a very nice 13-6. The Mavericks have been just barely a team that goes over the total on the road with 10 of their 19 games going over the basketball betting total.

Toronto is better at home versus the basketball betting number than they are on the road. That is not saying a whole lot considering the Raptors are not that good but at least at home the Raptors are above .500 versus the NBA betting odds.  Toronto is 10-8 versus the basketball betting line at home this season. It is all about offense for Toronto when it comes to basketball betting. The Raptors are in the Top 10 in points scored this season led by Chris Bosh.  They are not a good team on defense though, ranking near the bottom of the league as NBA betting stats indicated.

This should be a good matchup on Sunday between two of the better players in the NBA. The Mavericks have Dirk Nowitzki while the Raptors have Chris Bosh.  The difference is that the Mavericks have other players who can impact the basketball betting odds. Toronto really has Bosh and not much else.  The Raptors got Hedo Turkoglu in the off-season but he has not really made much of an impact on the basketball betting odds.
