Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Basketball Bet

Basketball bet is highlighted on Thursday by a TNT televised game between the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.

The Mavericks have actually held their own in this basketball betting series, winning six of the last ten games against the Suns.  Here is a look at what should be an entertaining game on Thursday between the Mavericks and Suns.

Basketball bet has this as the second meeting between the two teams this season. They played last month in Dallas and the Mavericks pulled out a 102-101 victory although they did not cover the basketball bet odds. Dallas has won five of the last six meetings. The Suns are 8-11 against Dallas in the regular season since Steve Nash left the Mavs and returned to Phoenix before the 2004-05 season. Phoenix owns a 70-53 overall advantage in the series against Dallas, but the Mavericks have won 20 of the last 31 meetings. Phoenix is 43-18 in the home games including victories in 10 of the last 16. This is normally a high scoring series but the last game did go under the basketball bet total. The previous four had all gone over in basketball betting.

Phoenix did everything right in their last game against Dallas except win. They got 27 points and eight assists from Nash, 25 points and eight rebounds from Jason Richardson and 20 points from Amare Stoudemire but Dirk Nowitzki had 33 for the Mavericks.

Dallas has been a much better team to take with a basketball bet on the road than at home.  In fact, it is not even close. The Mavericks have been rotten at home laying points in basketball betting but on the road they are a very nice 15-9 for those making a basketball bet.   The Mavericks are 15th in the league on offense and 12th on defense so those basketball bet numbers need to improve if Dallas wants to make sure they are in the playoffs this season.

Phoenix has been okay at home this season but nothing special.  The Suns overall look like a playoff team but in the very competitive Western Conference there are no guarantees.  Phoenix plays no defense as they are last in the league. Their offense makes up for it some of the time, as they are first in the league in points per game. That is still not the way to win though in basketball betting in the long run.
