There have been some all time great performances in bet on the NBA finals history and then there have been some low lights. The Miami Heat’s 2005 bet on the NBA Finals championship moment could be considered one of the latter.
Bet on the NBA finals enough times and you get a chance to see which teams are truly great and which teams are simply lucky to be apart of the NBA finals betting. In 2005 it would seem that the Miami Heat, were more lucky than skilled when it came to its bet on the NBA finals victory. Not to take anything away from the Heat, as an NBA finals betting victory under any circumstances is huge, huge achievement. But there has certainly been many bet on the NBA finals champions that have played much better than the Heat.
True, the Heat stepped up when it had to and played huge in the bet on the NBA finals. Its star player Dwayne Wade put on one of the great all time performances by a player in NBA finals betting. His numbers were out this world and he all but put the team on is back to ensure that it would not lose the bet on the NBA finals match up. But thinking back to that bet on the NBA finals match up and watching the tape, fans and experts alike can’t help but think that the Heat was one of the weakest champs that people that bet on the NBA finals has ever seen.
There is plenty of evidence to support this supposition and the team’s abysmal performance this season seems like perhaps the greatest indictment of Miami’s bet on the NBA finals weakness. In less than 18 months the team went from being bet on the NBA finals champs to one of the worst teams in league history. Much of the team’s woes this year has to do with injuries and aging but it still nonetheless provides a glimpse of its bet on the NBA finals weakness.
The Mavs were heavily favored in the bet on the NBA finals match up and very nearly won, but for whatever reason the Heat pulled it out. But despite how weak the team may have been you can never take away its championship.
