Free Agents Could Impact Basketball Finals Odds Next Year

The excitement of NBA Finals basketball playoffs betting begins on Thursday night as the Los Angeles Lakers host the Boston Celtics in Game.

Basketball finals odds next season are likely to be impacted by free agents.  The biggest name on the free agent list is LeBron James but other star players like Miami’s Dwyane Wade could impact NBA odds as well.

Basketball finals odds this season featured the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers but next season it might be the Miami Heat who are in the mix.  They would definitely be a contender if Wade returns and if he gets a big free agent to join him in south Florida.  Wade has been wooing some superstar players in an attempt to convince them to join him in Miami. Wade has said that he would like to stay with Miami but he wants a big name to join him.  Wade has even taken to the media to get his message out.  He said to ESPN that he wants to stay in Miami.

Wade has had conversations with key free agents such as James, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire and Atlanta guard Joe Johnson.  Wade wants a player that fits the style that Miami wants to play and that will complement him.  There is no question that Wade is one of the best player is n the NBA and he may be able to convince another key player to join him in Miami.   The Heat have not won a playoff series since winning vs. the basketball finals odds in 2006 when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks.

It is also possible that Wade could leave Miami.  The New Jersey Nets have a lot of money with new owner Mikhail Prokhorov and they have a new head coach in Avery Johnson.  The New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers also have salary cap space available that would enable them to sign a key free agent and make a big impact vs. the NBA odds next season.

It will only be a couple of weeks and then teams can make contact with free agents. They have to wait until July 1st according to NBA rules before making contact with free agents.  The Miami Heat have been careful not to get any tampering charges since they can’t contact free agents yet but that doesn’t mean Wade hasn’t had private conversations with a number of players.
