Basketball Betting Odds Favor the Lakers in Friday ESPN Game

Basketball betting odds favor the Lakers on Friday night as they host the Utah Jazz in a game that can be seen on ESPN.

Both of these teams are headed for the playoffs and they could meet in the second round.  The Lakers have won 7 of the last 10 against Utah although they are just 5-5 against the NBA betting line.

Basketball betting results are interesting in this series in regards to the side and the total.  The Lakers have won two of the three meetings this season against the Jazz but they have covered only one of those games. The Lakers won 96-81 at Utah and 101-77 at home. The Jazz won 102-94 in Utah for their only win.   One thing about this series is that the Jazz almost never win straight up at Los Angeles. In fact, they have lost their last 13 trips to L.A.  They can sometimes cover the point spread though but they haven’t been able to get a straight up win there in more than four years.  Is Friday the game where the Jazz finally break this drought and get a straight up win in Los Angeles?

Another fact about this series is that the last six games between the two teams have gone under the total in basketball betting.  That is very surprising considering both teams are ranked in the Top 10 in the league in offense.  They can play some defense though but it still is surprising to see so many games between the two teams go under.

Utah has been a solid team this season on the road vs. the NBA betting line. They are 21-15-1 on the road this season vs. the point spread.  In previous seasons the Jazz have struggled away from home but this year the Jazz have been solid.  Utah could be competitive in this game on Friday as well.

The Lakers have been overvalued all season again vs. the point spread. Los Angeles wins most of the time but they simply don’t cover every game.  They are 15-20-2 at home this season vs. the basketball betting line.  It is not popular to go against the Lakers since they are so good but many times taking the underdog in Los Angles games works out quite well.  And the Jazz have proven this season they can cover the spread on the road.
