After a 162 game regular season where they held the top spot in the AL West the majority of those games, the Texas Rangers face a one game, win or go home scenario as part of the new MLB wild card playoff. They will meet the Baltimore Orioles in the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington beginning at 8:37 PM ET Friday night. The game can be seen nationally on TBS.

When the St. Louis Cardinals travel to Atlanta to meet the Braves Friday afternoon, it will be the first one-game wild card playoff under the new postseason system implemented this year. The first pitch of this historic occasion is scheduled to be thrown in Turner Field at 5:07 PM ET with the contest televised nationally on TBS.

It's a fitting end to the 2012 regular season, with the Cincinnati Reds travelling to St. Louis tonight to begin a 3 game set with the Cardinals who are competing for a wild card postseason slot. The game is scheduled to begin in Busch Stadium at 8:15 PM ET.
