The Yankees have made a few changes but many of the familiar faces are on the team and that makes them the MLB betting favorite.
Baseball betting has the Yankees as the 3-1 favorite to defend their World Series title. The Yankees are favored to win in MLB betting and they expect to win. That is a good combination in baseball betting. "In a sense you're supposed to repeat every year. That's the expectation here. We understand that.” Manager Joe Girardi said, "So is there a greater sense of urgency to win this year than last year or the year before? I don't think so. You look at 2010. What we did in 2009 was wonderful, but it all starts over. It takes a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of commitment from everyone in the organization from top to bottom."
The Yankees did lose Johnny Damon, Melky Cabrera and World Series MVP Hideki Matsui but they picked up Curtis Granderson, Nick Johnson and Javier Vazquez. They could be even better this year in baseball betting than they were a year ago. Granderson is a huge addition as baseball betting stats indicate while Vazquez upgrades the pitching staff.
The Yankees still have a powerful pitching staff led by CC Sabathia and Mariano Rivera and a potent lineup led by Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira. There are not many weaknesses on the Yankees as you look at their chances in baseball betting. The key in MLB betting will be fitting things together and finding a fifth starter for the rotation. "I really like the players that are assembled in camp. We just have to figure out exactly how all the parts fit," said Girardi, "The pressure comes from within. I want to win this year, just as bad as I wanted to win last year and the year before.”
New York will be favored a lot in baseball betting this season. That doesn’t mean they will always win though but it does mean they will be respected in baseball betting. The Yankees can sometimes be overpriced and that is the only concern as you look at New York in MLB betting. They are also getting older as Derek Jeter, Rivera, Jorge Posada and others are on the downside of their careers although it is hard to tell considering how productive those players have been.
