MLB Odds Preview: Seattle Mariners

March 13th, 2024 Betting on MLB Baseball

MLB odds have not favored the Seattle Mariners for quite some time. And it doesn’t seem like 2009 will be the year the struggling Mariners hop from the MLB betting odds basement to the penthouse. But stranger things have happened in baseball odds competition and if the Mariners need any inspiration they need only look to the Tampa Rays which went from worst to first in their MLB betting odds division last season.

Baseball odds makers look at this Seattle team and they don’t necessarily like what they see. This is a team that finished the ’08 baseball betting odds season with a 101 losses, an almost unheard of feat in MLB odds competition. But the bright side is that things can hardly get any worse and it would take a near miracle to duplicate that type of MLB odds ineptitude. The roster has undergone a major transformation and the Mariners brass is hoping that translates into MLB odds wins when the MLB Odds Preview season starts.

The biggest acquisition for this team during the baseball odds off-season was the signing of former Mariner Ken Griffey Jr. The Kid is hardly what he once was, but in the comfy MLB odds confines of Safeco Field he should be able to hit at least 25 HRs and drive in 90 RBIs during the MLB betting odds season. Splitting time at DH should ensure his health and most MLB odds makers expect a big season from him. Perennial MLB odds All Star Ichiro Suzuki will have another great season hitting over .300 and with Griffey in the line up to protect him, Adrian Beltre should return to his baseball odds All Star form as well. The rest of the line up is mediocre and will have to pick up its production from the ’08 MLB Odds Preview.

The team’s pitching ace, King Felix Hernandez is a legitimate ace, despite his 9-11 record in the baseball betting odds competition last season. With virtually no run support he had little to work with. The rest of the starting rotation is legitimately one of the worst in the baseball odds. The two and three pitchers in the rotation Carlos Silva and Eric Bedard combined for a 10-19 record against baseball odds hitters last season. And the bull pen is a crap shoot with no baseball odds maker quite sure exactly who the closer will be.

This year’s Mariners squad probably won’t lose 100 games against the MLB odds competition this season, but it remains one of the worst in the league.
