The White Sox are at home and will be the baseball betting favorite in this matchup.
MLB betting on Kansas City will be popular at sportsbooks as the Royals are expected to improve this season although they are unlikely to contend. The same cannot be said about Chicago who could win the Central Division. The Royals are hoping to find some kind of starting pitching to go along with Cy Young winner Zach Grienke. One of those players should be Luke Hochevar but he has done nothing since getting a ton of money from the Royals as a high draft pick. Maybe the addition of catcher Jason Kendall will help Hochevar. "Having Jason back there is big," Hochevar said. "His game-calling makes a lot of sense to me. I understand what he's doing and it's going to be nice having him back there, doing all the thinking."
While the Royals are hoping to be improved their popularity among MLB betting fans, the White Sox are hoping to win. Chicago has what could be a very good starting rotation with Mark Buehrle, Jake Peavy, John Danks and Gavin Floyd. Baseball betting handicappers can tell you that last year, Floyd won 17 games but he will be just the third or fourth starter on the team. "I think that if we stay healthy and we live up to our abilities, both starting pitching and the bullpen, we're going to be pretty strong, real strong," Floyd said.
Chicago’s starting lineup could also be very good and impact MLB betting board. They have some excellent young players like Carlos Quentin and Gordon Beckham. Beckham is a 2008 first-round Draft choice. He is already considered a future star. He will bat second this season for Chicago and play second base. "Just put me on the field, I'll be all right," he said. "This year, it's second base, and hopefully it's second base for a long time." Chicago really looks like a team that can contend in MLB betting for a World Series title. "There is a good feeling around camp," Beckham said. "We want to win and we feel like we can win. There's a confidence here and that's exciting, really exciting. We just need everybody to pull their own weight and do what they're capable of."
