Rays Favored to Clip the Blue Jays in Tuesday Baseball Betting

The Tampa Bay Rays are favored at home in baseball betting on Tuesday as they host the Toronto Blue Jays in the first game of a three-game series.

It is the first game of a nine-game road trip for the Blue Jays and the first game of a six-game home stand for the Rays.  Jeff Niemann is expected to get the start for the Rays on Monday and the Rays have done very well vs. the MLB betting odds when he has been on the mound.

Baseball betting odds favor the Rays on a regular basis now that people have realized Tampa Bay is a very good team.  The Rays are now considered right with the New York Yankees as one of the best teams in the league.  Tampa Bay has an excellent pitching staff and one of their best pitchers is Jeff Niemann even though he doesn’t get much attention.  He is 5-0 this season with a 2.79 ERA. He will be opposed on Tuesday by Toronto’s Brian Tallet who is 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA.  Tallet was very good last time out in his first start off the DL as he held the Rays to just four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Tallet is 2-1 with a 5.11 ERA against Tampa in his career.

Niemann had a rare bad outing last time out against Toronto but he still didn’t get the baseball betting loss.  He allowed five runs in 6 1/3 innings.  Niemann almost always gives the Rays a chance to win as he has nine quality starts this season. Niemann is 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA at home in his career.

The Rays have won 15 of the last 20 meetings against Toronto.  The Rays have already won four of the six meetings against Toronto this season including two of three in April in Tampa Bay. Two of those three games went over the total in MLB betting.

Toronto has been very good on the road this season in baseball betting.  The Blue Jays are 16-11 on the road this season.  The Blue Jays are hitting a lot of home runs and scoring a lot of runs which makes them a threat to win on the road.  The Rays have been an even better road team than Toronto.  In fact, the Rays have the best road record in the league by far.   What is very surprising is that Tampa Bay is only 15-12 at home this season in baseball betting.
