One such truth in the MLB odds is the fact that the Seattle Mariners have been consistently bad while the AL Angels have been consistently good –a story line that is once again playing itself out in the 2009 MLB odds.
MLB odds fans will get a chance to watch these two teams go head to head on May 30 in LA. The MLB betting odds makers will assuredly take the Angels at home in this MLB odds match up. And logically it makes sense. But so far in the 2009 MLB odds the disparity between these two teams isn’t quite what it used to be. The Rangers have stunned the MLB betting odds world by charging out to an AL West lead. The Angels have played well (23-20) but find themselves with only a three-game lead in the MLB odds standings over the Mariners, a team that just won’t seem to go away.
Not to say that Seattle won’t collapse before all the MLB odds competition is said and done, but right now it seems as if this squad is marginally improved over the 2009 MLB odds edition. Yet it still has plenty of flaws.
The starting pitching has been good, one of the better groups in MLB betting odds. Felix Hernandez has been very strong with, 5-3 with a 3.72 ERA and 66 Ks in 64 innings of work. The team’s weakness though has been at the plate. The Mariners bats are limp and the team has only one player with more than 5 HRs and 20 RBIs, pathetic by any MLB odds standard. The addition of Ken Griffey Jr. has done little to improve this weak lineup and opposing pitchers have feasted on its batters.
The Angels will likely do just that as they have dominated Seattle in the MLB odds this year. Not but a week ago the LA took three out of four games in Seattle, holding them to a measly 12 runs in the series. The Angels are a much better team at home and the strong starting rotation will no doubt silence the Mariners bats again.
Look for LA to win this MLB odds game and perhaps even sweep the series. The only chance the Mariners have of taking a game in LA is with Hernandez on the mound.
