Lester and Boston Favored in Baseball Betting at Colorado

The Boston Red Sox and pitcher Jon Lester are favored on Monday in baseball betting as they travel to Colorado to face the Rockies.

Lester has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season and will be favored on the road even though the Rockies have been very good vs. the MLB betting odds at Coors Field.

Baseball betting odds almost always favor Lester when he goes to the mound. He is 8-2 on the season with a 3.13 ERA.  The last time out against Arizona, Lester went seven innings and allowed just two runs and four hits.  This will be his first career start against Colorado. The Rockies will go with Jhoulys Chacin on Monday. He is 3-6 on the season vs. the baseball betting odds with a 4.00 ERA.  He has not pitched well at home this season going 1-3 with a 6.17 ERA.  He pitched well last time out against the Twins but that was in Minnesota and he still ended up on the losing end of a 2-1 score.

This baseball betting series is a rematch of the 2007 World Series that the Red Sox won in a four-game sweep.  In fact, the teams have not played since that series.  Boston won 13-1 and 2-1 at home in those games and 10-5 and 4-3 in Colorado.

Boston has been a good road team this season in baseball betting so they are capable of getting the win at Colorado.  The Red Sox have been playing very well in the past month and they are right in the middle of the American League Central race.  Boston leads the league in runs scored so when Lester is on the mound they have been winning most of the time. The Red Sox could get some runs in this matchup considering how much Chacin has struggled at home.

Colorado has been better at home this season in MLB betting than on the road. The Rockies usually have a nice home field edge at Coors Field and that has been the case this season.  The Rockies have struggled scoring runs this season which is a surprise but their pitching has been very good. Colorado has Ubaldo Jimenez and that is a big reason they are fifth in the league in fewest runs allowed this season.
