Cardinals Look to Wainwright in Thursday Baseball Wagering

The St. Louis Cardinals are expected to send Adam Wainwright to the mound on Thursday in the finale of a three-game baseball wagering series against Toronto.

When Wainwright is on the mound the Cardinals have been very good in MLB wagering and even on the road they should be favored in this game against the Blue Jays.

Baseball wagering statistics indicate that Wainwright is 10-4 on the season with a 2.23 ERA.  He should be opposed in this game by Brandon Morrow who is 4-5 on the season with a 4.97 ERA.  Wainwright has been almost unbeatable at home vs. the MLB wagering odds but on the road he has been mortal. He has lost four times away from home even though his ERA of 2.78 on the road is still very good. Wainwright has allowed more than two earned runs only four times all season.

Morrow has been pitching well lately for the Blue Jays. He has allowed two runs or less in his last four starts.  Unfortunately for him he has only one win in those four starts.  In his last start against the Giants he went six innings and gave up only two runs but got a no decision.  Previous to that outing he went six innings against Colorado and gave up just one run but he got the loss.

The Blue Jays and Cardinals don’t play that often in baseball wagering. Before this series began they had only met six times with the last series coming in Toronto in 2005.  The Blue Jays took two of those three games and all three games went under the total in MLB wagering.

The Cardinals have not played that well on the road this season as they are below .500 in baseball wagering. St. Louis wins with pitching as they are second in the league in ERA. When they get Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday to drive in runs they are tough to beat.

Toronto has been winning in baseball wagering with an offense that hits a lot of home runs.  The Blue Jays are in the top ten in the league in runs scored.  The Blue Jays don’t always get enough pitching but they are staying in the race in the American League East.
