MLB props and futures still favor St. Louis but the Cubs are showing signs of getting back in the race.
Betting Major League Baseball with these two teams could see a pitching duel on Sunday. The Cardinals may be going with Adam Wainwright while the Cubs counter with Ryan Dempster. This is the last of a six-game road trip for the Cardinals and the final game of a six-game homestand for the Cubs. Dempster is 3-4 on the season with a 3.31 ERA. Dempster was excellent last time out as he threw eight shutout innings against the Dodgers. Last season he was 0-1 with a 3.33 ERA in four starts against the Cardinals.
Before this series began the Cubs had won six of the last ten at home against St. Louis. The Cubs are normally a popular team with those gamblers betting Major League Baseball. Last season the Cubs won four of the seven home games against St. Louis. Six of the last ten between the two teams have gone over the total.
The Cardinals have been struggling to score runs lately and that has made them a bit of a risky team to take when betting Major League Baseball. The Cardinals have fallen well below average in runs per game. Their pitching has still been strong but Albert Pujols has not had his best month and when he is not driving in runs the Cardinals can struggle. St. Louis has not been that great on the road so they will be happy to see this road trip come to an end.
Chicago is around the .500 mark this season for gamblers who back the Cubs when betting Major League Baseball. They really haven’t done much but they are still in the National League Central race. Chicago is below average in hitting and in pitching. They are fortunate to be within striking range of the Cardinals. It is still tough to take the Cubs though when betting Major League Baseball since they are so inconsistent.
