There are number of interesting division races setting up in both the NL and AL and the next few months baseball should be as good as it gets for baseball betting fans.
In the NL two of the top contending teams with legitimate hopes of playing in the baseball odds postseason action will collide when the St Louis Cardinals (48-41) play host to the LA Dodgers (49-40) on July 17th.
Entering the series the LA Dodgers find themselves in relatively unknown baseball betting odds territory: 3rd place in the NL West. But the Dodgers are just 2.5 games behind the Padres and .5 games behind the Rockies. With a good showing in St Louis and some good luck they could be back on top of the baseball odds division by the end of the series.
But LA will have a very tough time on Saturday against the Cards who surprisingly find themselves in second place in the NL Central, trialing the most surprising team in baseball betting, the Cincinnati Reds (49-41).
The Cards were picked in the MLB betting preseason to dominate their division with two of the best bats in the biz (Albert Pujols and Matt Holiday) anchoring their lineup at the plate and arguably the best starting rotation in the NL with the likes of Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright and others. The Cards have played well most of the season but would certainly underachieve if they didn’t come out on top of the baseball betting battle in the NL Central.
The Dodgers will send Hiroki Kuroda (7-7, 3.87 ERA) to the mound to face the Cards. He’s struggled of late losing 3 of his last 4 starts and giving up 16 runs.
LA doesn’t stand a chance.
The Cards should win this one behind good hitting and another dominant pitching performance by ace Wainwright (13-5, 2.11) who just might be the Cy Young favorite in the NL.
