Baseball Gambling Odds Heavily Favor the Dodgers on Friday

The Los Angeles Dodgers are favored at home on Friday in baseball gambling odds as they host the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of a four-game series.

The Dodgers are scoring a ton of runs this season so this could be a high scoring game in MLB gambling on Friday.

Baseball gambling odds in this series between the Pirates and Dodgers have favored the Dodgers almost every time.  The teams met early this season in Pittsburgh and although the Dodgers were favored, the Pirates actually won two of the three games.  Two of those three games went over the total.  Last season the team met three times in Los Angeles and the Dodgers won all three games. They won 6-2, 5-4 and 3-1.  Two of those three games went under the total. Two years ago the Dodgers took two of three against the Pirates in Los Angeles, winning 8-1 and 11-2 while losing 6-4.  All three of those games went over the total in MLB gambling.

The Pirates have been respectable this season at home but they have struggled on the road. Pittsburgh is a young team and oftentimes in mlb gambling young teams will struggle on the road. The Pirates have some talent though and their pitching may be able to matchup with the Dodgers in this series. Zach Duke is off to a very good start this season for the Pirates and he should pitch in this series. They may not be able to match the Dodgers offense though.  Garrett Jones is about the only real power threat the Pirates have in their starting lineup.

Los Angeles has started the season ripping the cover off the ball. It is a good thing too since the Dodgers’ pitching staff has not been very good.  The Dodgers have had to win high scoring games and that is an unusual formula for Los Angeles wins. There is simply not a dominant starter for Los Angeles so they have to score runs to win. With a lineup that includes Manny Ramirez, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier, the Dodgers can put up runs on a regular basis.

The Dodgers are probably favored more than they should be in this series. They have done well against the Pirates but the Los Angeles pitching staff is really not worthy of big favorite status in baseball gambling.
