Baseball Betting Preview: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks

September 4th, 2023 Betting on MLB Baseball

The Texas Rangers have been in a decade long slump but seem to be finding their stride of late as any bet on baseball fan will tell you. On June 23rd the team will look to add to its baseball betting success against the Arizona D-Backs.

Baseball betting fans have grown accustomed to the Rangers being the whipping boy of the generally competitive AL West. This year however, three months into the bet on baseball action the Rangers are still in first place in the baseball betting standings holding onto a slim 1.5 game lead over the Angels.

The D-Backs on the other hand had a great run at the top of the baseball betting world, even chalking up a World Series sports book win a few years back. But hard times have come to the desert and the D-Backs are among the worst teams in NL baseball betting. The only NL team baseball betting team with a more futile record is the Nationals. Ouch.

Arizona’s pitching (with the exception of bet on baseball stud Dan Haren) is awful. Their offense (with the exception of Justin Upton) is rotten and there is a very definite reason why this team is a last place baseball betting team. Haren has been very strong so far in the baseball betting with a 6-4 record, 101 innings pitched, 96 Ks and a 2.23 ERA. Upton has also been fantastic with 12 HRs and a .314 BA, but two men cannot bring a team consistent baseball betting victories.

If you’re looking to bet on baseball take the Rangers in this match up. Aside from the obvious (the Rangers lead their division and are one of the top teams in baseball betting), the Rangers are better in many other ways. With a 37-28 record the team has done all the small things right this baseball betting season and that’s why it’s been successful in the sports book win column.

Ace Kevin Milwood is off to a terrific start with seven wins so far and it seems as if the Rangers can score at any time they want. But the big difference maker here, aside from baseball betting talent, is Arizona’s awful record at home. The D-backs are the rare team that wins on the road 15-15 but loses its baseball betting games at home (14-23). Go Rangers.
