Baseball Betting Preview of Tigers at Rangers July 29

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball betting fans have been waiting for some time for the Detroit Tigers’ talented roster to start performing up to its talent level.

For them and the rest of the baseball betting public, the 2009 season has been a revelation. On July 29th the Tigers will head to Texas to take on the Rangers and try to extend their bet on baseball division lead in the AL Central.

Baseball betting gurus predicted the Tigers to play in the World Series but the team fell amazingly short with its big name free agent signings struggling and the once vaunted starting rotation looking very pedestrian in the bet on baseball regular season. But something has changed this baseball betting season with the team and the result has been a 49-42 record and 2-game lead in the AL Central bet on baseball competition.

The Tigers have been getting it done on the mound and that plate. Miguel Carbrera has finally begun living up to his monster contract and is batting .330 with 19 HRs and 52 RBIs this baseball betting season. At the plate, however, the story has been all star Branden Inge the career utility man who is batting .260 with 21 HRs, and 58 RBIs – revelation for a player that looks more like the bat boy than an MLB all star.

The Rangers are in the same boat as the Tigers, finally living up to baseball betting expectations thanks to some improved pitching and strong hitting. The Rangers roster is riddled with All stars like Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler. The team’s bats have always been dangerous but this year the team has some pitching, which has translated to baseball betting wins. Starters Kevin Millwood (9-7, 3.44 ERA) and Scott Feldman (8-3, 3.87 ERA) have been leading the charge with Frank Francisco closing out baseball betting contests (15 saves in 17 opportunites).

This should be the marquee baseball betting match up of the evening. Both teams are locked in bet on baseball division races with the Tigers holding a slim lead while the Rangers find themselves trailing in the AL West baseball race for the first time all season. Texas needs to win this game even it it’s in the worst way if it wants to keep its baseball betting playoff hopes alive, especially with AL West rival LA hosting the hapless Indians at the same time.

Take the Rangers in this match simply because of the home field baseball betting advantage. On paper this is a very tight match up and anything could happen.
