Baseball Betting Preview: Dodgers vs. White Sox

Baseball betting inter-league games are the highlight of any season and so far in the 2009 online sportsbook season there has been plenty of outstanding bet on baseball options when the Senior and Junior leagues go at it.

One of the more interesting match ups in the baseball betting world will happen on June 24th when the LA Dodgers travel to the Windy City to take on the South Side Sox. The Dodgers have the best team in baseball betting so far in ’09 but the Sox will be looking to put at Chicago beat down on the LA team in what should be a very interesting opportunity to bet on baseball.

Baseball betting is approaching the mid-point of the season and the cream has separated itself from the rest of the crop. So far that cream had been the LA Dodgers. Just a year after Joe Torre arrived in LA-LA Land he’s been proclaimed a miracle by many an online sports book commentator. The Dodgers had been a laughing stock in many baseball betting circles for most of the decade. By the time Torre arrived they had finally assembled some talent but were still incredibly inept at using it or racking up bet on baseball wins.

But that was then and this is now and the baseball betting fortunes of this team have greatly improved. Even with the suspension of slugger Manny Ramirez, from day one LA has been probably the best team around. With a record of 44-24 it’s the only team with 40 wins and four games better than any other team in the majors. And that’s to say nothing of its eight game lead in the NL West –which has three baseball betting teams over .500.

Chad Billingsly has been the ace for this team and one of the few pitchers in baseball betting with nine or more wins. The rest of the starting staff has been above average as evidenced by the rotation’s ERA, which is also among the better numbers. Jonathon Broxton has 16 saves, but he’s got two blown opportunities as well. Most people that bet on baseball expected this team to hit a rough patch in the baseball betting without Manny, but the bats have actually come alive in his absence.

The White Sox have not been as fortunate in the baseball betting. With a record of 31-36 the team is four games under .500 and four games out of the lead in the AL Central baseball betting division.

The team has talent but they’ve been playing like bums. At home they’re 16-18 and depending on who’s on the mound in this baseball betting match up they could easily lose another one in front of the home crowd. Ozzie Guillen could be looking for a new job in the fall.
