Baseball’s Best Rivalry Highlights Friday MLB Gambling

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

MLB gambling odds on Friday are highlighted by the best rivalry in baseball as the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees.

It is the first game of a three-game series between the two teams.  The Yankees are the baseball gambling favorites to win the World Series again this season while the Red Sox have struggled early in the season.

MLB gambling odds favored the Red Sox earlier this season when they hosted the Yankees.  New York took two of those three games.  The only win for the Red Sox was the season opener.  Two of those three games went over the total.  The Red Sox have actually won four of the last six games at Fenway.

The Yankees have started the season looking like defending World Series champs.  Managing general partner, Hal Steinbrenner is very pleased with the team’s start. "We have players who care about the team," Hal Steinbrenner said, "players who are going to be there for each other and are going to pick each other up."

The Yankees have been excellent at home this season but they are also worth taking in MLB gambling on the road. The difference when you bet the Yankees on the road is that they are more reasonably priced in MLB gambling. When the Yankees are at home they heavily favored and it makes taking them difficult when you are laying more than 2-1 in every game.  The prices on the road are more reasonable. New York has big name pitchers like CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett.  Two other starters are also very good as Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes have started the season strongly.  Javier Vazquez looks to be the weak link as he simply can’t pitch in the American League.

Boston still gets respect in MLB gambling, some of it undeserved.  The Red Sox do not look like a great team this season. They have some questions in the starting rotation and some major problems in their lineup.  David Ortiz looks like he is done and if not for Dustin Pedroia the Red Sox would really be struggling to score runs.  The Red Sox can still win games but they are definitely overpriced a lot in baseball gambling.  Early in the season, Josh Beckett and Jon Lester have not pitched as well as they can and that is another problem for Boston.
