Baseball Betting Mismatch as Yanks face Orioles on Tuesday

Baseball betting odds on Tuesday heavily favor the New York Yankees even though they are on the road.

The Yankees face the Orioles and Baltimore has gotten off to a terrible start this season.  New York figures to get most of the MLB betting action in this game.

Baseball betting trends also point to New York in this series. They have won 15 of the last 20 games against Baltimore.   The Yankees took six of the nine games at Baltimore last season.  Many of those games were high scoring as six of the nine went over the total.  This is the first game of a three-game series between the Yankees and Orioles.

New York has started the season just about the way they ended last year. The Yankees look like the best team in the American League again. They have a very balanced and powerful offense and an excellent pitching staff that features the best closer in baseball history.  There is a lot to like about the Yankees in 2010. The only drawback is the price in baseball betting.  But if the Yankees win then it really doesn’t matter since this is not football. If the Yankees win you get paid, period.  There is no point spread to even things out.  With a lineup that can score runs, a good starting staff and a great closer, the Yankees are tough to beat.

Baltimore has just been sickening this season in MLB betting. The Orioles have struggled at home and on the road. In fact, they are 0-6 at home so far this season.  It may not get any better in this series against the Yankees. The Baltimore offense was expected to at least be decent but it has been awful.  The pitching staff has not been much better.  Baltimore has some talented players like Adam Jones and Nick Markakis. Losing Brian Roberts early in the season didn’t help but the Orioles still should not be this bad.

The Yankees are going to get the bulk of the betting action in this game.  There simply is not much to like about Baltimore in this series. For the Orioles to be profitable in this series they may only need to win one game but that may not happen.  About the only thing to like with the Orioles is the price and that may draw a few underdog bettors to Baltimore on Tuesday.
