Baseball Betting: Baltimore Orioles 2009

Baseball betting fans of the Baltimore Orioles have struggled through some lean years of late.

And while 2009 should see an improved Orioles roster if anyone is looking to bet on baseball in Baltimore, it will still fall short of the baseball betting pennant that has eluded the team for so long. But management is putting together a decent collection of talent and the team is on the right track to regaining baseball betting respectability.

Baseball betting off-season saw the Birds very aggressively pursue some big name free agents, most notably slugger Mark Teixeira. And most people who bet on baseball are also aware that they lost out in the Teixeira sweepstakes. But even without Teixeira this offense should be able to put some runs on the board during the baseball betting season. Second baseman and leadoff extraordinaire Brian Roberts should be huge in the team’s run production plans, but is also the constant subject of trade rumors and may not last the entire bet on baseball season.

The meat of the line up will feature three decent power-hitting lefties which plays well against most of the baseball betting bull pens the team will face. Nick Markakis, Aubrey Huff and Melvin Mora are all coming off big seasons in 2008 and if you’re looking to bet on baseball in the AL East these players are among the best. Huff in particular had an outstanding season playing DH hitting .306 with 32 HR and 108 RBIs. Many baseball betting scouts also like young Adam Jones who supposedly will show up to training camp looking something like the incredible hulk after adding a reported 25 pounds of muscle and the team expects much more power from him, perhaps in the middle of the baseball betting lineup.

The starting rotation for the Birds is decent at best. Anchored by Jeremy Guthrie the only Oriels starter with a double wins last baseball betting season, his 10-12 record is hardly inspiring. However, his talent is evident and with some proper run support and help from the bullpen those baseball betting numbers should improve this season. New recruit Koji Uehara from Japan should lock up the number two spot in the baseball betting rotation and big things are expected from him from the baseball betting community.

The bullpen is strong with an abundance of middle relievers and closer George Sherill proved he could seal the deal with an impressive 31 saves in the 2008 baseball betting season.
