Angels & Mariners in Friday Baseball Gambling

Two teams that are expected to battle for the American League West title meet in Friday in baseball gambling as the Seattle Mariners host the Los Angeles Angels.

Neither team has started the season strongly but the MLB gambling odds still point to these two teams in the American League West.

Baseball gambling odds are very close on this Friday night matchup.  The teams oftentimes play very tight games.  The Angels have the slight advantage in the last 20 meetings, winning 11 games. In Seattle, the games have been ultra-competitive recently with the teams splitting the last ten games.   Six of those games went under the total.  Eight of the last twenty games between the two teams have been decided by a single run.

The Angels are starting to hit the ball a little better in large part because of first baseman Kendry Morales.  Last year he hit 34 homers and drove in 108 runs. In his first 13 games he has just three home runs and six RBIs but he broke out with a huge week in late April as he hit three homers and had 10 RBIs along with seven runs scored.  He was named Player of the Week award for the second time in his career. "I'm very excited," Morales said, "It's not an easy thing to do in his league with so many good players. It's truly an honor."  The Angels are very happy with the progression of Morales this season, especially as a switch hitter. "I think he's growing into it," manager Mike Scioscia said. "This guy really has a good swing from both sides of the plate. He's understanding not only his swing and what he can handle but what pitchers are trying to do by keeping him off balance to get him out. But only experience is going to teach you that last little bit, and he made adjustments last year and he continues to make them."

Last season, Morales was fifth in the balloting for the AL Most Valuable Player Award. "My goal is just to improve on everything I did last year and to win," Morales said. "We'll see what happens, but the main thing is for me to keep working to make my game better overall."

The Mariners usually win games in baseball gambling with pitching since their offense is weak.  When you have an aging hitter like Ken Griffey Jr. in the middle of the lineup you are going to struggle to score runs and that has been the case with Seattle this season.
