I Want Revenge Favored in Kentucky Derby Betting at SBG Global

Kentucky Derby betting is likely to favor I Want Revenge on Saturday in the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby.

It will be the second straight year in Kentucky Derby odds that Michael Iavarone and IEAH Stables have the favorite as last year it was Big Brown.  Let’s take a look at I Want Revenge and his chances to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby betting should be exciting with 20 horses going to the post, many with a legitimate chance to win.  Unlike last year when only a few horses had any reasonable chance in Kentucky Derby odds, this time quite a few horses can win in Kentucky Derby betting.  They will have to beat I Want Revenge though, as this horse is the favorite in Kentucky Derby odds.
Iavarone doesn’t seem quite as confident as last year. "It’s definitely different, after all the trials and tribulations we went through with Big Brown’s feet," said Iavarone, "But we certainly feel like I Want Revenge is our horse, and we hope the outcome is the same."

History is against I Want Revenge in Kentucky Derby betting for a couple of big reasons.  No owner has won back-to-back in Kentucky Derby betting since Meadow Stable did it with Riva Ridge and Secretariat in 1972 and ’73. "I knew we had the most talented horse in the race last year.” Iavarone said, “This is a much better group, but to be honest, I like this feeling better."

I Want Revenge looked very good in the Gotham and the Wood but the buzz around the horse is not the same as it was last year with Big Brown who was a consensus favorite in Kentucky Derby betting.

I Want Revenge is the favorite in Kentucky Derby betting but Pioneerof the Nile is not far behind and even Dunkirk and Fresian Fire should be less than double-digit Kentucky Derby odds.  Both Pioneerof the Nile and Friesan Fire come into Kentucky Derby betting unbeaten.  And Pioneerof the Nile has Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert who knows how to win in Kentucky Derby betting.  Friesan Fire has Larry Jones who finished second the last two years while Dunkirk has Todd Pletcher who is bound to break his 0-for-21 streak eventually in Kentucky Derby betting.

Kentucky Derby betting odds will likely have I Want Revenge at 3-1 of 9-2 at post time.  Open an Account and start betting on the Kentucky Derby at SBG Global!
