Fabio Capello named England Manager

Soccer betting news announced that former AC Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus manager Fabio Capello was officially named England’s manager on Friday.

He signed a four and a half year contract worth a reported 6.5 million pounds a year. He succeeds Steve McClaren, who was fired last month after England did not qualify for Euro 2008 soccer betting cup.

Capello will bring an all-Italian support team with him that includes assistants Franco Baldini and Italo Galbiati, goalkeeping coach Franco Tancredi and fitness coach Massimo Neri. Capello will be introduced to the media and soccer bet fans in London on Monday and will start his job January 7th. His first soccer betting match will be a friendly against Switzerland in February. He will not have to worry about important soccer betting matches until next fall when England begins their bid to qualify for the 2010 soccer betting World Cup in South Africa. "I am delighted that Fabio Capello has agreed to become England manager", said FA chief executive Brian Barwick. "When we set out to recruit the new manager, we said we were committed to appointing a world-class candidate. In Fabio Capello we have that man. Fabio is a winner. His record over the last two decades speaks for itself”.

Capello had been interested in the England job and he became the leading candidate after Jose Mourinho pulled out of the running. "Fabio Capello is widely recognized as one of the world's finest coaches", said Sir Trevor Brooking. "He has achieved huge success wherever he has worked and has the respect of everyone in football soccer. Fabio will have the full support of the FA and its coaching set-up. We are excited about working with him over the coming years as we focus on qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa”.

Many of the top soccer coaches in the soccer betting world including Sir Alex Ferguson supported the hiring of Capello. The credentials that Capello brings to the job are impressive. He won 32 soccer betting caps for Italy as a player. He led Milan to four Italian soccer betting titles and led them to a win in the 1994 soccer betting Champions League. He also had success with soccer betting teams Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus.
