Sea The Stars Won’t Run Breeders Cup Wagering

November 30th, 2010 Breeders Cup Betting

Breeders Cup wagering for the 2009 Breeders Cup is not going to include Sea The Stars.

The horse won the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on October 4th but was then retired.  He could have been an interesting choice in Breeders Cup betting at the sportsbook but that will not happen now.

Breeders Cup wagering at the sports book will still include a full field in the Breeders Cup Classic but Sea The Stars won’t be in the field. “We feel it is unfair to keep him going any further given his unprecedented record of achievement in the last six months,” trainer John Oxx said.  Sea The Stars had won back in May in the Stanjames.com Two Thousand Guineas and he also won the Investec Epsom Derby.  He didn’t stop there as he won the Coral Eclipse Stakes, the Juddmonte International Stakes and the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champions Stakes before winning in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. “He’s come out of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in his usual good form,” Oxx said, “He is fit and healthy and has been cantering since the race.”

Breeders Cup wagering on the Classic now will be without Sea The Stars and without superstar Rachel Alexandra. The key for Breeders Cup betting interest in the race could be the presence of unbeaten filly Zenyatta but that Breeders Cup wagering decision has not yet been made.

Breeders Cup wagering on the 2009 Breeders Cup begins on Friday, November 6th.  It includes the $2 million dollar Ladies Classic in Breeders Cup wagering where Zenyatta would run if she is not part of the Breeders Cup Classic.  Also on the Breeders Cup wagering card for Friday is the Filly & Mare Turf, the Juvenile Fillies, the Filly & Mare Sprint and the Juvenile Fillies Turf race.

Saturday, November 7th is perhaps the best day of the year for horse gamblers at the sportsbook.  Breeders Cup wagering has the $5 million dollar Classic and a lot of other great Breeders Cup betting races.  The Breeders Cup Turf is a $3 million dollar Breeders Cup wagering race. The Juvenile, the Mile and the Sprint are all $2 million dollar Breeders Cup betting races.   There are three $1 million dollar Breeders Cup wagering races. They are the Dirt Mile, the Juvenile Turf and the Turf Sprint.  Also on the Breeders Cup wagering card is the half million dollar Marathon.
