Gozzip Girl & Misremembered Out Breeders Betting

November 30th, 2010 Breeders Cup Betting

Breeders betting will be popular on European standout Champs Elysees in the Breeders Cup Turf on Saturday, November 7th.

Breeders Cup betting will not include Gozzip Girl or Misremembered. Both horses have been pointed to other races and will not be on the Breeders Cup wagering card.

Breeders Cup betting may have been popular on Gozzip Girl but the horse will not be entered in the Filly and Mare Turf. Gozzip Girl was the winner of the Grade 1 American Oaks at Hollywood Park but trainer Tom Albertrani said he was not happy with the way the horse was coming into the race. Gozzip Girl was third in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland but did not come out of the race well. "There are no plans at the moment," Albertrani said. "We’ll probably wait for next year. She lost some weight with the travel and tucked up a little bit. We felt we need to give her a little break. We haven’t made any definite decisions right now, but we’ll pass the Breeders’ Cup." Gozzip Girl has won 5 of 10 starts, including four stakes victories.

Misremembered has won two Grade 2 stakes this year but will not be entered in Breeders Cup betting for the Dirt Mile. The horse will be pointed to the $400,000 Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs in late November. Trainer Bob Baffert said he wants to put Misremembered in an easier race rather than point the horse to a race in Breeders Cup wagering. He is now looking at the Strub Series at Santa Anita. "He’s a big, immature horse," Baffert said. "I want him for the Strub. I want a good horse for the Strub."

Friday, November 6th is when Breeders Cup betting begins. The Marathon is the first Breeders Cup wagering race on Friday. It is followed in Breeders Cup betting by the Juvenile Filly Turf. The Filly & Mare Sprint is next in Breeders Cup betting followed by the Juvenile Fillies, the Filly & Mare Turf and the Ladies’ Classic. You can watch all of those games in Breeders Cup betting on ESPN 2.

On Saturday, November 7th in Breeders Cup betting the first race is the Juvenile Turf. It is followed in Breeders Cup betting by the Turf Sprint and the Dirt Mile. Those Breeders Cup wagering races can be seen on ABC. The rest of the races are on ESPN starting with the Juvenile.
