Breeders Cup Betting – Picks for the Breeders Cup Classic

The race to watch on Saturday in Breeders Cup betting is the Classic.

It is one of the most anticipated races in a long time as the great Zenyatta tried to make it a perfect 20 for 20.  She will be the favorite in Breeders Cup odds but there are some horses that could spring an upset.

The horse is listed at 8-5 on the morning line at SBG but that might be a little bit too low.  She is likely to be more like 2-1 and it is possible she could drift up to 3-1.  She will probably still be the favorite though. She is the people’s horse and would be a popular winner.  It would be great to see her win if only to shut up Andy Beyer.

Quality Road
This is horse is capable of beating Zenyatta but the inside post is a definite problem.  Trainer Todd Pletcher is not thrilled about it but there is nothing he can do.

If there is a horse that can win this race that is going under the radar then it is Haynesfield.  The horse has already shown he can run with Zenyatta and he is undervalued at 12-1.

This horse is getting a lot of attention in Breeders Cup betting and is kind of a hometown favorite but there are serious questions as to whether he is good enough to beat Zenyatta.

Lookin at Lucky
Has the outside post and perhaps that is a good thing. This horse simply finds a way to get into trouble. He shouldn’t be able to get into too much from the outside.

Paddy O’Prado
The horse has Kent Desormeaux in the irons but has done nothing to show he can win a big race.

First Dude
Maybe this horse can shock the world but we doubt it.

Fly Down
Nick Zito and Julien Leparoux at least make this horse interesting.

Musket Man
The hard trying Musket Man looks in over his head.

Pleasant Prince – At least he has Joel Rosario in the irons
Etched – No real chance
Espoir City – A Japan import that would shock everyone.

Picks – An exacta box with Zenyatta, Quality Road and Haynesfield, an across the board bet on Haynesfield and a single win bet on Zenyatta just to say we did it.
