First Dude is expected to be entered in the Breeders Cup Classic even though he probably doesn’t have much chance to win in Breeders Cup odds. He has never won a stakes race but trainer Dale Romans is taking a shot because of the big $5 million dollar purse.
First Dude might be able to get in the money and that is all Romans are looking for. He knows his horse doesn’t have much of a shot to beat Zenyatta or Lookin at Lucky. Robby Albarado will get the mount and he might be able to get First Dude into the picture even if he can’t win.
Second in the Pennsylvania Derby – First Dude was second by a neck in the Pennsylvania Derby. Romans said it was the best race his horse has ever run so he is going to enter First Dude in the Classic. Romans said that if First Dude can hit the board it is worth it. First Dude has two seconds and four thirds in his last six starts. He lost by about a length to Lookin at Lucky in the Preakness and he finished third by a length in the Belmont.
Other Breeders Cup Betting News – Paddy O’Prado is not a guarantee for the $3 million dollar Turf. The horse is the leading 3-year-old grass male horse. Romans also trains this horse and said that he doesn’t know for sure if Paddy O’Prado will go in the Turf but that is the way his connections are leaning. They are prepping the horse for the Japan Cup on November 28th. Even an eighth-place finish at the Japan Cup pays over $100,000 so there is nothing to lose by going over there.
