Daniel Jacobs vs. Gennady Golovkin boxing betting preview

Date: Mar 18, 2017
Place: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York
Notes: For WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight titles

Boxing Betting Odds for fans who bet on boxing:
Jacobs 7½ (+115) +600
Golovkin 7½ (-135) -900

Jacobs has won his last 12 straight fights, including four consecutive successful defenses of the WBA (Regular) middleweight title. The Miracle Man has not lost since July 31, 2010. Golovkin, on the other hand, has not lost since… actually, he has never lost. The man with the three Gs is 36-0, and with 33 KO wins he has the highest knockout percentage in middleweight championship history. Moreover, Triple G has an unbroken streak of stoppages that dates back to 2008. GGG has never been knocked down or out, either. He is both the irresistible force and the unmovable object. According to Two-time Irish Olympian Michael Conlan, Golovkin will KO Jacobs in the fifth. Conlan thinks GGG is underestimated because he’s such a nice guy. Or maybe it’s the haircut. Get a load of that bowl job.

Wladimir Klitschko vs. Anthony Joshua boxing betting preview

Date: April 29, 2017
Place: Wembley Stadium, London, England
Notes: For IBF, vacant WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight titles

Odds for fans who bet on boxing:

Klitschko 8½ (-115) +180
Joshua 8½ (-105) -220

Klitschko dropped the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring, and lineal heavyweight titles to Tyson Fury on 28 November 2015, but will have a chance to get a couple of those back against Joshua. In fact, and according to The Sun, Dr. Steelhammer is “obsessed” about leaving “the ring as the champion and the winner of this fight.” As Joshua’s elder by 13 years and following an 18-month absence from the ring, the Ukrainian is the underdog for a change. However, newly crowned WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker told BoxingScene.com that “it’s 50-50. A lot of people think Joshua will knock him out but I think Klitschko has the experience to avoid that. We will see but will be an interesting fight.”

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez boxing betting preview

Date: May 6, 2017
Place: T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, U.S.
Notes: For bragging rights

Odds for fans who bet on boxing:
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. +600
Canelo Alvarez -900

According to boxingscene.com, both former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. and Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum believe JCCJR has a “good shot to beat Canelo.” Arum adds the caveat that Chavez Jr. has to be serious about his training in order to pull off the upset. During his last years with Arum, The Son of the Legend would miss training sessions at the gym, trained at odd hours, and struggled with weight. Chavez Jr. started working with strength and conditioning trainer Angel “Memo” Heredia and Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain last fall and seems to be more focused than ever. As for Canelo, this fight will be another stopgap until he (read Oscar De La Hoya) finally decides to face Golovkin.
