ESPN will provide race coverage and there are some great NASCAR bet choices available at the online sportsbook. Here is a look at NASCAR betting at the sports book for the Sharpie 500.
NASCAR betting for the Sharpie 500 is the second race held at Bristol each year. The Food City 500 was held back in March at Bristol and Kyle Busch was the NASCAR betting winner. The Sharpie 500 has not been as good to Kyle. It has been dominated the past two years in NASCAR betting by Carl Edwards. He won in 2007 and in 2008 for gamblers who made a NASCAR bet. Ford has really done well in this race in the past, winning the past four years in NASCAR betting. Edwards won the past two years while Matt Kenseth won in 2005 and in 2006. Kurt Busch won while driving a Ford in 2003 so that makes it five of the last six for Ford in NASCAR betting in the Sharpie 500.
Going back in history a bit in the Sharpie 500 we see that Tony Stewart won this race in 2001 while Jeff Gordon won in 2002. We mentioned Kurt Busch’s win in 2003. It was Dale Earnhardt Jr. winning in 2004. Kenseth and Edwards then won the next four races.
Gordon and Kurt Busch have five career Cup wins at Bristol in NASCAR betting. Mark Martin, Edwards and Kenseth have two wins each while Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Earnhardt Jr., Stewart, and Elliott Sadler have one win each.
Last year it was Edwards defeating Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin in NASCAR betting. Harvick was fourth followed in NASCAR betting by Gordon, Ryan Newman, Clint Bowyer, Stewart, Kenseth and David Ragan. Last year Kyle Busch led 415 of the 500 laps but Edwards still beat him for gamblers who made a NASCAR bet at the sports book. Earlier this spring Busch got the win though in the Food City 500. He led 378 of those laps. Busch has not had a good year and a win at Bristol would be huge for his chances of making the chase.
